The Home for Orphans on Wednesday, March 31, 2021, were surprised with gifts and love when Madam Martha Amanga, a Business Woman and a Philanthropist journeyed through to render her support to the Street Kids-Home of the Orphans.
“I actually read about the Home on the internet and I felt so sad about the touching stories of these little kids who are here. Today marks my birthday and I officially want to celebrate the day with them”. She emphasized.
Some of the items presented to the Chosen Children Centre include packs of Stationaries, food items, toiletries, and an undisclosed amount of money.
Speaking to jaknewsonline.com, the Philanthropist stated that, she will relay to her friends both in and out of Ghana to please come to the aid of the orphanage home. They really need support and our attention must be directed to them. I will personally try my possible best with the grace of God to come visit them every moment I get a proposition” She added.
Receiving the items on behalf of the Chosen Children Centre, Madam Felicity Ali, expressed her appreciations and gratitude done them, especially for the innocent children. “This will go down in the annals of our books. We will never forget the good you have done us this day.” She emotionally stated.
In a separate interview with the Director of the Home, Madam Felicity Ali, requested she will like to appeal for support through this medium. “Our Centre needs support and assistance. In no particular order, we are requesting scholarships for some of the kids. They are very brilliant and very dedicated in their everyday activities.
If the government and individuals can keep supporting us by paying for the school fees of our children, then I am sure, the burden may lessen”. She lamented.
A minibus to serve as an avenue of transport to convey the children to and back from school would be appreciated. “We keep getting new enrollment almost every day. If we can get a new facility to help decongest the place, that will be of great news to us.” Just to add up, we are forced to allow some of the kids to sleep in pairs which are not ideal for us as a home. This happens because there is limited sleeping beds and mattresses for the Centre.
There are lots of things we need as a home. Anything for the kids is welcome. We pray Ghana and the world will keep having this Centre and the Children at heart. She concluded.
Chosen Children Centre has a total population of about 50 orphans and street-connected children.
