The wonder spiritualist and self-styled outspoken Priestess, Patricia Asiedu well known as Nana Agradaa has been arrested by a joint team of Ghana Police and National Security Intelligence Operatives, and in collaboration with the National Communications Authority on Tuesday night.
At about 2200hrs on April 20, 2021, a joint team of State Institutions including the National Communications Authority, stormed the premises of two satellite television stations, namely, Thunder TV and Ice1 TV, who were illegally transmitting without licenses, at Kasoa in the Central Region shut down.
The Priestess is well known for her moneymaking ritual and doubling of cash, called ‘sika gari’.
The arrest is part of efforts by security agencies to clamp down on the activities of spiritualists of money rituals escalated on television screens.
The team arrested the offenders among which included the owner of Thunder TV, Patricia Asiedua, popularly known as Nana Agradaa and seized two (2) equipment each used in the illegal transmission from both premises. The authorization of her broadcast channel was revoked by the National Communications Authority in March 2020.
In a Facebook post sighted by jaknewsonline.com, the Minister for Communications and Digitalization, Mrs. Ursula Owusu-Ekuful (MP) wrote that, “Nana Agradaa advertises her “Sika Gari” on her TV station, which she claims is her personal god that multiplies money with some rituals she makes. She has hence admitted to this illegality and is currently in custody assisting with further investigations.”
Communities are calling on the government to deal with activities of swindlers parading as spiritualists on our television have heightened following the ritual murder of a 11-year-old boy at Kasoa.
